I was working nearby and after reading other people's reviews, I decided to have a large Haddock and regular Chips for lunch. I was the first customer at just after 12pm. I had to wait approximately 25 minutes as the cooking oil was still heating up. Boy the wait was worth it! Often sceptical by other people's reviews, Frydays didn't disappoint. The batter was light and crisp the fish tasted fresh and was cooked well. The chips were lovely and golden and again cooked perfectly 👍 If I'm in the area again this will be my go to for fish and chips. Very clean and friendly staff. If you are spending over £10 card payments are accepted. Anything less is cash only.

This is the best fish and chip shop in Chelmsford hands down! I've seen a bad review on here and I come here every Friday and never had a bad experience! Highly recommend this place!

Sausage and medium chips £4.90. Excellent quality and good portion size. Only bad thing.... no BBQ ribs :( Great to have a decent chip shop on the way home

Since opening I have used this fish & chip shop on numerous occasions and I have to say I’ve never been dissapointed the food has always been cooked to perfection the chips just right and the batter is light and crispy and not dripping in oil like some places. The staff are always friendly and polite and the service is quick and efficient. The shop is very well presented and always looks spotlessly clean. They also do a very nice fresh kebab with lots of options I will definitely be returning and would easily say this is one of the best fish and chip shops in Chelmsford. Keep up the good work all the Frydays team!!!!

I've eaten food from most of the chip shops in Chelmsford over the last few years and have been disappointed a lot of the time. Started eating food from here maybe 6 months ago and can honestly say I don't go anywhere else. Portion sizes are big. I've never had a bad meal, always freshly cooked, always tasty. Can't fault it. The only thing I'd say that service isn't always the fastest but then if you want freshly cooked fish or kebabs, youve got to be prepared to wait.
